Dovetailing studs into the bottom plate can save a great deal of amount of time on site as they can be located without measurement and remain in place and vertical without any fixing until all the wall timbers are located and fixed

Dovetailing floor joists into chamber beams or ring beams can again reduce the time on site considerably by removing the need for measurement.  In many cases their use can entirely remove the need for joist hangers.

Dovetailing every joint can sometimes be a luxury which is unnecessary. In these circumstances a simple notched connection enables a measurement free location method and quick manufacture. Also, notching diagonal braces within the studwork allows for very strong racking resistance without the need for external sheathing.

Miscellaneous items like web fillers can be easily created and located in the frame and as such drawn automatically and included in comprehensive lists of components, so nothing is left to chance or 'guestimation.'

In the same way as plywood web fillers, the quantification of all metal connectors can be done very quickly and easily, simply by including them as part of the 3D model. We can even include in the lists, the exact numbers of nails or bolts which will be required.
